John J. Finn
Founder & Managing Partner
John Finn is the Founder and Managing Partner of Boldwater Partners. He has more than 20 years of financial leadership experience as a proven business builder and as a trusted advisor to both industry-leading alternative asset managers and sophisticated institutional investors.
Prior to founding Boldwater Partners, John was Managing Director and Global Head of Hedge Fund and Alternative Credit Distribution for Eaton Partners, one of the largest and most successful placement agents in the industry. He was the only person at the firm to serve as a member of both the hedge fund and North American private funds distribution teams, while also serving as a senior member of the Liquid Funds Investment Committee.
His responsibilities leading a global team included originating funds, managing GP relationships, and distributing funds across North America. During his time at Eaton, John and his team represented more than 25 different alternative managers raising over $5 billion in assets.
Prior to joining Eaton Partners, John held senior roles with JP Morgan Asset Management, Select Equity Group, Inc., and Bear Stearns & Co. John received a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he earned Dean’s Honors. He holds Series 3, 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses with FINRA.
